You'll lead nursing care delivery in a Special Needs Unit within a Long Term Care facility, reporting directly to the Director of Nursing. Your Day-to-Day
You'll implement strategies that achieve exceptional patient safety, uncompromising quality, and an outstanding experience for residents and families. You'll create an environment that fosters staff development, empowers your team, and supports best practices in nursing care delivery.
Your responsibilities include:
Supervise CNA Trainees, CNAs, Senior CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Unit Clerks
Allocate resources to promote efficient, compassionate, and fiscally responsible nursing care
Coordinate care across department lines through systems that promote inter-disciplinary collaboration
Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel
Ensure appropriate orientation, education, credentialing, and continuing professional development for your team
Assess departmental needs, develop and implement planned interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness
Facilitate project management and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Demonstrate professionalism, compassionate leadership, and effective communication in every interaction
Provide age-appropriate care tailored to each resident's unique requirements
What We're Looking For
Required:
Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse
Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program
At least 2 years recent manager experience in a Long Term Care facility
Two years of nursing experience or Long Term Care experience
Familiarity with DOH requirements
Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with staff, patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team
Analytical skills to assess needs and evaluate interventions
Ability to establish effective work relationships and lead others toward organizational objectives
Preferred:
Special Needs Unit experience
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Meditech
Schedule: Full-time, day shift. Weekends required on a rotational basis.
