Nurse Practitioner Opportunities in Correctional Healthcare

Job Overview
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate Adult or Family Nurse Practitioners to join our team in correctional healthcare settings across Colorado. This is a unique opportunity to provide meaningful care to underserved populations while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. Monday - Friday schedule working eight or 10 hour shifts (40 hours/week).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and create personalized care plans
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Conduct physical exams and perform minor procedures (e.g., injections, spinal taps)
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens
- Educate patients on disease prevention, wellness, and treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other team members to ensure integrated care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records
- Apply case management strategies to support continuity of care
- Stay informed on current clinical guidelines and evidence-based practices
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Colorado
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of NP experience (correctional or hospital setting preferred)
- Colorado DEA license with prescriptive authority
- Strong knowledge of clinical coding, billing, and ICD-10 standards
- Proficient in patient assessment, diagnosis, and care planning
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-responsibility environment
