    Work Schedule:

    1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

    As an Advanced Practice Provider, you''ll play an integral role in our ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

    Join the growing Cardiac Program at the American Family Children's Hospital and be part of a dedicated team! You will be caring for children with cardiac conditions.

    We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to:

    • Conduct comprehensive health history and physical assessment for new and follow up patients with diagnoses such as hyperlipidemia, syncope, new murmurs.
    • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and imaging studies
    • Order and prescribe appropriate medications
    • Develop outpatient treatment plans
    • Provide counseling and education to promote wellness with patients and families.
    • UW Health's Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Advisory Council ensures that your voices are heard. This unique advisory council serves to promote, support, advocate and advise on APP practice and provide expertise and counsel on APP roles across the organization.

    Education:

    Minimum -

    • If Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program
    • If Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

    Licenses and Certifications:

    Minimum -

    If Nurse Practitioner:

    • Active RN and APNP license in State of Wisconsin AND
    • Active board certification as a NP in the following: Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Practice.

    If Physician Assistant:

    • Active PA license in State of Wisconsin AND
    • Active PA board certification.

    All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have:

    • Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
    • CPR certification and advanced life support certifications if relevant to practice area (ACLS, PALS, NRP).
