Description
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
A Room Attendant is responsible for the general cleanliness and appearance of guest rooms.
Responsibilities
- Vacuum and sweep carpets and floors
- Clean floors when necessary
- Shake, brush, polish and vacuum furniture
- Dust and clean room decorations, appliances, and structural surfaces. (e.g. wall applications, windowsills, ducts, etc.)
- Change linens and make beds
- Clean showers, tubs, sinks, and bathroom items
- Remove used guest amenities and trash
- Restock guest amenities and supplies
- Check rooms for security risks, and the operating condition of the equipment and report it. to maintenance
- Check for damaged linen
- Complete assigned deep cleaning projects.
- Report lost articles, maintenance problems, or specials problems to a supervisor
- Maintain storage rooms and stock carts
- Move linens from cleaning carts to laundry carts
- Record the status of the room on the assignment sheets
- Provide information to guests about hotel services, facilities, and other amenities
- Provide information to guests about local attractions and services
Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is a plus
- Solid initiative and work ethic
- Punctual, reliable, and regular attendance
- Special attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
