Occupational Therapist

Our client, a reputable healthcare facility in Canaan, Connecticut, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join their team. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $83,000 to $116,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive therapy services to patients of all ages who are experiencing physical, mental, or developmental challenges. Your primary goal will be to help patients improve their daily functioning and quality of life by developing and implementing personalized treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct initial evaluations and assessments to identify patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans

- Provide hands-on therapy, including exercises, activities, and adaptive equipment, to improve patients' motor skills, strength, and coordination

- Monitor and track patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all interventions and outcomes

- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and speech therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to patient care

- Educate patients and their families on strategies and techniques to improve daily functioning and promote independence

- Stay updated on the latest research and techniques in occupational therapy and incorporate new methods into practice as appropriate

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program

- Current state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in Connecticut

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or rehabilitation facility

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team

- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle a high caseload and meet deadlines

- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work independently with minimal supervision

- Proficiency in electronic medical records and other relevant software
