This Occupational Therapist position is based in Fort Pierce, FL at a 380-bed acute-care hospital on the Treasure Coast offering a broad range of services including a Heart Institute, open-heart surgery, labor and delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and inpatient and outpatient surgical services.
The role. The Occupational Therapist manages the complete occupational therapy care process for an assigned patient caseload, working in close coordination with physicians and the broader patient care team. The OT monitors and documents patient responses to treatment and communicates relevant changes to the treating team, while also keeping patients and families informed of payor requirements and care expectations. The role carries a caseload management component, requiring the therapist to prioritize daily assignments and coordinate patient handoffs to ensure continuity of care across the continuum.
