JOB SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist, Home Health, evaluates, plans, and administers comprehensive occupational therapy modalities/regimens to patients in their place of residence for the purpose of developing and restoring function through rehabilitative occupational therapy as prescribed by a physician.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
Manages an occupational therapy caseload with efficiency and efficacy
Completes clinical documentation in the medical record per department guidelines and completes department records for billing and statistics. Performs accurate assessments and documentation for evaluations, OASIS, discharge, and regular visits.
Manages resources needed to perform OT treatment plan to accomplish the goals set for the patient. Provides, modifies, or discontinues occupational therapy based upon an ongoing assessment/reassessment of the patient's clinical status in accordance with physician orders
Selects and performs appropriate Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluation procedures to identify and assess problems. Sets treatment goals and devises a treatment plan. Re-evaluates and adjusts the treatment plan in response to the patients changing condition and discharge plans.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required with curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Current valid NC license in Occupational Therapy.
Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in Occupational Therapy. Prior Home Health experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
