Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab, Weekend Program

We are seeking a weekend program occupational therapist to join us at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center West Bank Hospital in Minneapolis!

Be a part of our inpatient rehab setting that serves patients with a variety of neuro, oncology, cardiac, orthopedic and complex medical needs. In collaboration with patients and families, the OT is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care within scope of practice. This includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, planning, intervention and establishing outcomes. We are an outstanding multi-disciplinary team of therapists, nurses, physicians, care coordinators working together for patient outcomes!

• FTE: .01, casual position. 
• Schedule/Weekend Program: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), 8:00am - 4:30pm.
• Opportunities to pick up additional weekday and weekend shifts, as available!  

Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.

Responsibilities

• The occupational therapist partners with the patient and family while performing the Evaluation/Re-evaluation
• Gathers pertinent data
• Performs examination
• Determines treatment diagnosis
• Develops an individualized plan of care through coordination with the patient and family
• Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risks
• Determines prognosis for recovery
• Establishes individualized goals with patient and/or caregiver
• Individualizes plan of care considering developmental level and cultural differences
• Implements and modifies plan of care based on reassessment and patient response
• Coordinates care and communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team for all aspects of patient care
• Establishes appropriate discharge plan
• Partners with patients and families to provide skilled intervention
• Implements plan of care
• Alters treatment/plan of care to reflect change in patient status and response to treatment
• Assesses patient and/or caregiver learning needs and provides appropriate education
• Documentation/Billing

Required Qualifications

• Occupational Therapy Licensure in State of Minnesota or temporary license in State of Minnesota

• Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• 1+ years of outpatient pediatric and adult experience
• Certification with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
