Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Location: South Dennis, MA 02660 (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 13 Weeks


Schedule:

  • Shift: Day / Evening
  • Hours: 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
  • Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends or 4 weekend days within the 13-week contract
  • Holiday Requirement: Occasional, based on facility needs

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat both adult and pediatric patients using a variety of occupational therapy techniques. The role focuses on improving patient functionality, independence, and quality of life through customized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals
  • Perform diagnostic testing and functional assessments
  • Deliver occupational therapy treatments and adjust plans based on progress
  • Fabricate adaptive equipment and splints as needed
  • Modify therapy techniques for patients with cognitive or physical limitations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families on therapy programs and home care
  • Maintain therapy equipment and supply inventory
  • Supervise and guide OT assistants, aides, and students
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, and infection control initiatives
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new staff
  • Maintain daily activity logs and billing records
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and continuing education programs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Active Occupational Therapist License (Massachusetts)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to diverse patient needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in occupational therapy (adult and pediatric settings)
  • Prior experience in rehabilitation environments
  • Specialist certification (for advanced-level candidates)

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Flexibility to provide float coverage within regional service areas
  • Strong focus on patient-centered care and functional outcomes
