    About Knudtsen

At Knudtsen Auto Group, we're more than a dealership group. We're a family-owned business built on relationships, integrity, and a commitment to serving our customers and community. From new and used vehicle sales to service, parts, and collision repair, our team works together to deliver an exceptional experience. If you're looking for a workplace that values collaboration, accountability, professional growth, and community involvement, we'd love to meet you.

    The Role

We're seeking an experienced Automotive Office Manager to lead the daily operations of our dealership accounting office. This is a key leadership position that partners closely with the Controller and dealership managers to ensure accurate financial reporting, smooth deal processing, payroll administration, manufacturer compliance, and overall office efficiency. If you thrive in a fast-paced automotive environment, enjoy leading teams, and take pride in accuracy and organization, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact.

    What You'll Own

    • Lead the day-to-day operations of the dealership accounting office and support the Controller with financial oversight.
    • Manage month-end close activities, reconciliations, reporting, and manufacturer financial statement deadlines.
    • Oversee deal posting, inventory accounting, cash management, floor plan activity, and banking relationships.
    • Ensure accurate processing of payroll, commissions, bonuses, chargebacks, and incentive programs.
    • Maintain manufacturer receivables, warranty accounts, rebates, holdbacks, and other factory-related transactions.
    • Review accounting entries, investigate discrepancies, and uphold strong internal controls.
    • Supervise, train, schedule, and develop office team members while fostering a collaborative culture.
    • Support titling, contracts, service agreements, and dealership administrative processes.
    • Ensure compliance with payroll, sales tax, titling, record retention, and dealership accounting procedures.
    • Provide timely financial insights and reporting to leadership teams to support business decisions.

    What We're Looking For

    • 4+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience.
    • Proven experience with month-end close and dealership financial statements.
    • Strong working knowledge of dealership operations, including deal processing, F&I products, chargebacks, floor plans, factory incentives, and warranty accounting.
    • Experience with dealership management systems (Tekion or Dealertrack preferred).
    • Payroll processing experience, including commissions, bonuses, and incentive calculations.
    • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and reporting.
    • Previous leadership, supervision, or team training experience.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize deadlines and maintain accuracy.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus.

    What We Offer

    • Competitive compensation based on experience.
    • Opportunity to join a respected, family-owned automotive group.
    • Professional development and ongoing training opportunities.
    • Community involvement and volunteer opportunities.
    • Employee vehicle purchase discounts.
    • On-site fitness room.
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Life insurance options.
    • 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan.
    • Paid holidays, PTO, and sick leave.
