Operations Associate

About the Role

This Operations Associate role sits inside the Strategy and Operations team of a fast-growing, early-stage AI platform company in the healthcare access space. It is a true ownership position, not a support-analyst seat. You will work directly with leadership on cross-functional problems that touch Growth, Product, Clinical, and Operations, and you will see your recommendations through to measurable results rather than handing them off.

The ideal candidate is a high-slope early-career problem solver, someone fresh out of a top program or one to two years into a role at a high-growth startup, a top consulting firm, or a competitive investment bank. You think from first principles, write and speak with clarity, and get energized by ambiguity rather than slowed down by it. You take pushback well, work through it, and keep the conversation moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own well-scoped cross-functional projects from problem definition through analysis, execution, and measurement
2. Identify operational bottlenecks, trace them to root causes, and redesign workflows including those that involve an offshore operations team
3. Partner with Operations, Product, and Engineering to convert pain points into automation opportunities and better internal systems
4. Build the metrics, dashboards, models, and decision memos that leadership relies on to run the business, often from incomplete or messy data
5. Support business planning, market research, competitive analysis, and strategic go-to-market initiatives wherever the team needs you
6. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders so they can act on them

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree required; a background in business, economics, engineering, math, or another quantitative field is a strong plus
• 0 to 2 years of experience in strategy, operations, or go-to-market work at a fast-growing startup or a highly selective institution
• Strong analytical skills: comfortable working with incomplete or messy data, finding root causes, and turning findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to map and redesign workflows or spot opportunities to automate manual processes
• First-principles problem-solving: able to break a vague question into facts, assumptions, and a practical plan
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication that makes complex information accessible and actionable
• Able to work fully on-site five days a week in Flatiron, NYC
• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship (US citizens and green card holders only)

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in an operations or go-to-market associate role at a startup
• Exposure to healthcare operations such as prior authorization, benefits investigation, specialty pharmacy, or provider workflows
• Background at a high-growth company (for example, Stripe or Ramp), a top consulting firm (for example, McKinsey, Bain, or BCG), or a competitive bank (for example, Goldman Sachs)
• Titles such as Operations Associate, Business Operations, or Strategic Projects in a previous role
