Ortho Sales Specialist Associate (Entry Level)

The Orthopedic Specialist Associate plays a critical role in providing surgical case coverage and customer support across a territory. This position serves as a flexible resource, ensuring consistent product representation and service in operating rooms during procedures. The role supports territory sales representatives by covering open cases, assisting with product education, and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Provide surgical case coverage across multiple accounts within the assigned territory, ensuring consistent product support in the operating room.
• Serve as a resource to support case coverage needs, including high-volume accounts, product evaluations/conversions and representative absences.
• Deliver clinical and technical expertise to surgeons, nurses, and operating room staff during live surgical procedures.
• Partner with territory sales representatives and leadership to ensure effective execution of sales and service strategies.
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, clinical staff, and hospital administrators.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of company products, surgical techniques, and competitive offerings to support procedural success.
• Assist with staff education, product training, and in-service to ensure proper adoption and utilization of surgical devices.
• Maintain accurate records of case activity, customer feedback, and territory support using company reporting tools.
• Travel across territory geography managing a flexible schedule to accommodate case coverage needs.
• Adhere to all company, industry, and regulatory standards for compliance, quality, and customer interactions.

This position requires the following skills and attributes: 

• 4-year degree
• Candidates from Medical Sales College or with experience in healthcare or clinical support are encouraged to apply.
• Strong record of achievement in academics, athletics, or prior professional roles, demonstrating competitiveness and resilience.
• Ability to learn complex medical terminology, surgical procedures, and technical product information quickly.
• Willingness to travel significantly across a geographic territory.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proven goal oriented, self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial drive
• Must live in the geographical location of the position or be willing to relocate
• Applied Medical Field Team Members must be able to meet third party credentialing requirements, which may include but are not limited to COVID-19 vaccination.

The base compensation range for this role is $50000 - $60000 / year for the position in this location. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in this specific geographic area based on the date of this job posting.
