Outbound Shipping Operations Coordinator
Location: Brea, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
It’s 3:00 PM in Brea and your shift begins. You log into ERP, TMS, and digital inventory tools to line up the evening’s departures. About 30% of your time is spent at the screen—confirming ship-to details, choosing carriers and service levels, and producing labels, bills of lading, and packing slips. The rest of the night (about 70%) you’re on the floor, verifying staged pallets, labeling and wrapping, and moving finished orders to outbound lanes so pickups leave on time.
How your shift unfolds
- Release and process outbound orders through ERP/TMS and shipping software; keep freight, weight, and dimension details accurate.
- Generate and review labels, BOLs, packing slips, and carrier paperwork; ensure tracking is captured and recorded.
- Compare staged shipments to sales orders—confirm part numbers, quantities, labels, and customer-specific requirements before release.
- Coordinate with 3PL partners, carriers, warehouse staff, and customer service to align pickups and resolve questions.
- Spot issues quickly—missing materials, quantity mismatches, damage, labeling or documentation discrepancies—and report immediately.
- Stage, wrap, identify pallets, and move completed orders to the correct dock or carrier pickup zone.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records for shipments, tracking, and freight charges.
- Use handheld scanners, computers, printers, and shipping platforms confidently and safely.
- Keep the shipping area clean, orderly, and safe throughout the shift; assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
