Looking for overnight caregiving work where you can focus on one client at a time? McKenney Home Care is seeking dependable Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs for private-duty overnight opportunities in clients’ homes throughout Sarasota and Charlotte County.
McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency providing individualized one-on-one care through our Venice office.
About the Overnight Schedule
Overnight assignments are typically 12-hour shifts from approximately 8:00 PM–8:00 AM.
These are awake overnight shifts. Caregivers are required to remain awake, alert, and available to the client throughout the entire 12-hour shift.
For client and caregiver safety, overnight caregivers must be able to arrive rested and may not work another job or daytime shift on days they are scheduled to work an awake overnight assignment.
Opportunities may include:
- Weeknight overnight shifts
- Weekend overnight shifts
- Recurring overnight assignments
- Consistent assignments when available
Schedules vary based on current client needs, caregiver availability, experience, and location. Hours cannot be guaranteed.

- Follow individualized care plans and communicate concerns to the office team
What You’ll Need to Complete Onboarding
- Ability and willingness to remain awake for the entire 12-hour overnight shift
- Ability to maintain a schedule that allows you to arrive rested and alert; caregivers working another daytime job on scheduled overnight days cannot be assigned to these shifts
- Strong communication, observation, and reliability
- Comfort working independently in a private home setting

- Reliable transportation
