A growing professional services organization is seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join its collaborative payroll team. This role offers the opportunity to manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse client portfolio while gaining exposure to payroll compliance, tax filings, and client consulting.

This is a highly visible, hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented, client-facing environment and enjoys balancing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

  • Process payroll for a portfolio of approximately 90-120 clients on scheduled cycles

  • Prepare, reconcile, and review payroll reports and adjustments

  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll outputs based on client-specific requirements

Client Support & Communication

  • Partner with clients to ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll data

  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll platform issues and user questions

  • Build strong client relationships and conduct quarterly business reviews

Tax & Compliance Support

  • Assist with quarterly and annual payroll tax filings

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in internal systems

  • Track workflows, deadlines, and project status to ensure compliance and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Prior payroll or accounting experience is a plus (training available for the right candidate)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach

  • Reliable, organized, and proactive with strong follow-through

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort learning new systems

  • Interest in obtaining the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is encouraged
