ResponsibilitiesDuties related to this position include but are not limited to:Manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting activities to ensure accurate project financial performance tracking, revenue recognition, and profitability analysisAssist with client invoicing ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual requirementsAssist with client & subconsultant contract management ensuring compliance with contractual terms, billing requirements, and company policiesMonitor client accounts receivable, support collection efforts, and collaborate with project managers and clients to facilitate timely payment of outstanding invoicesOversee and review payroll processing and related compliance activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to applicable regulationsAssist with financial reportingAssist with month-end and year-end closingIdentify, recommend, and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies to strengthen internal controls and enhance department performanceProvide leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities for accounting team membersQualifications/SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (Master's degree or CPA preferred)Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience required - service-based revenue model accounting experience preferredProfessional experience in engineering, architecture, legal, consulting, or a related professional services environmentDemonstrated leadership experience with responsibility for staff supervision, coaching, and developmentExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Primarily Microsoft Excel)Experience with Deltek software products or similar project management-based software is preferredBenefitsCommonwealth has earned our reputation as a leader in the water resource industry.
