Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Alexandria, VA.
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and process multi state payroll accurately and efficiently. This individual will be responsible for ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience using Paycom and a solid understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employee records management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Specialist will process biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Paycom
- Review and validate timesheets, pay adjustments, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on schedule
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and benefits deductions
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Reconcile payroll reports and prepare payroll related journal entries
- As a Payroll Specialist, you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations
- Coordinate payroll tax filings and year end activities, including W-2 preparation
- Support audits by providing payroll documentation and reports
- Partner with Human Resources and Accounting to ensure accurate payroll and employee data
Requirements:
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- Hands-on experience with Paycom is required
- Experience processing multi state payroll
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and payroll best practices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis functions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
