Job Title: Payroll Specialist
Job Location: 100% REMOTE (if local to Pittsburgh, will be required to come onsite once every few months to pick up mail)
Project Duration: 8+ monthswith possible extension
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Process payroll accurately and timely for employees across the enterprise in accordance with company policies and payroll schedules.
•Review, validate, and maintain employee timekeeping records to ensure accurate payroll calculations and compliance with applicable policies.
•Administer payroll-related activities for employees on leave of absence (LOA), ensuring proper documentation and pay processing.
•Perform payroll audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring employees are paid correctly.
•Enter, update, and maintain employee payroll and personnel data within HRIS and payroll systems.
•Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide timely, professional customer service and issue resolution.
•Assist in maintaining payroll records and supporting payroll compliance requirements while safeguarding confidential employee information.
•Collaborate with internal HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to support payroll operations and resolve processing issues.
•Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency, and data integrity.
 
Required Qualifications:
•High school diploma/GED
•At least 1-3 years of relevant experience
•1+ years of experience with Workday and UKG
•Data entry experience
•General experience with payroll audits and reconciliation
•Experience handling confidential and sensitive information
•Experience handling employee inquiries
•Customer service background
•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•Attention to detail
•MS Office Suite
•Proficient in Excel
•Willingness to learn
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•2-3+ years of experience with Workday and UKG •Multi-state payroll experience •Any payroll related certifications •Workday certification
