Pharmacist - Specialty

General Summary/Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, and according to standard procedures, dispenses medications and pharmaceutical care upon receiving physician orders; performs all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs; supervises support personnel in all work areas assigned; participates in training pharmacy students, technicians, and other allied professionals.

Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and according to standard procedures, oversees/performs total prescription filling process: data entry, inventory management, patient counseling, counting, labeling, filing and billing of prescribed products. Coordinates delivery, as necessary.

Coordinates care (with a multi-disciplinary team) directly with patients and caregivers.

Works with other team members and outside entities (insurance companies, PBMs, manufacturers) to obtain/verify patient financial responsibilities

Qualifications

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Additional requirements:

Type of degree: Doctorate or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy

Area of study or major: Pharmacy

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Must be licensed by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Knowledge/Skills

Posses good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communications skills and problem solving skills.

Able to read and write printed material in English.

Posses ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as a team member.

Must be customer-service minded.
