Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:
Assist the pharmacist in prescription workflow such as:
Registering patients in Pharmacy Software
Completing prescription intake by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities.
Adjudicates claims through insurances and completes necessary authorizations for approvals
Filling prescriptions
Cashier duties and scheduling deliveries
Helps health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone;
Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs.
Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Maintains records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions.
Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information.
Keeping inventory counts and a clean workstation
Complies with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulation pertaining to the pharmacy technicians roles in the practice of pharmacy
Minimum Requirements
Current and unrestricted Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT) License - required
Current and unrestricted Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) Certification
Understand medical terminology / physician orders
Problem-solving skills to work with patients and providers
Customer service skills
Verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
Ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations, identify drug names and use
