This Physical Therapist (PT) role is based in Fort Pierce, FL at a 380-bed acute-care Level II Trauma Center with a CARF-accredited Physical Rehabilitation Center, a Certified Primary Stroke Center designation, and the area's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. The hospital also houses a Heart Institute offering open-heart surgery and a broad range of services including oncology, orthopedics, labor and delivery, and adult and pediatric emergency care.
The role. Reporting within the inpatient rehabilitation program, the Physical Therapist manages the complete therapeutic care process for an assigned patient caseload in coordination with physicians and the broader care team. Day-to-day work centers on performing evaluations and delivering treatment interventions within the full scope of PT practice, assessing and evaluating patients' functional and rehabilitative status, and contributing to individualized plan-of-care development. The PT instructs patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, appliances, and prosthetic devices for use outside of formal therapy sessions. The position also carries caseload prioritization responsibilities, including determining daily staffing needs and coordinating assignments and patient handoffs across the team.
What we're looking for.
• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Physical Therapy
• Active Physical Therapy license (Florida)
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapy experience
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Full-time, day shift with rotating weekends.
