I.
MEDICAL SERVICES
PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Position will be an integral part of the healthcare team, ensuring the delivery of compassionate and efficient patient
care. Also, works under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide high-quality medical care to patients.
Assists in diagnosing, treating, and managing medical conditions, conducting physical exams, ordering and interpreting
tests, prescribing medications, and providing patient education to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts comprehensive physical exams and health assessments on patients.
Gathers medical histories from patients and assesses patients' conditions.
Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic illnesses and medical conditions based on exams and tests.
Orders, interprets, and follows up on laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
Develops, implements, and adjusts individualized treatment plans for patients.
Prescribes medications, therapies, and interventions as appropriate.
Provides patient education on health management, preventive care and lifestyle modifications.
Provides preoperative and postoperative care, assisting in minor surgical procedures, as needed.
Monitors patients' progress and adjusts treatment plans as required.
Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation in patients' electronic medical records (EMR).
Ensures continuity of care by coordinating with specialists or other medical staff.
Stays current on medical advancements and best practices through continuing education and professional
development.
PERIODIC DUTIES:
Contributes to Health Center community health activities outside of regular job responsibilities.
Participates in Health Center staff problem solving groups.
Attends and participates in department meetings, etc. as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Inside Health Center:
All inclusive.
Outside Health Center: Patients/Clients, students, vendors, community health agencies, grant agencies, funding
agencies, professional colleagues, professional organizations and education institutions,
managed care plans, hospital committees especially physician assistant/hospital collaboration
groups, City, State and Federal agencies, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program required.
Valid Physician Assistant license in the State of Missouri and be in good standing required.
Drug licensed including DEA and BNDD numbers required.
Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment numbers including Medicare UPIN number required.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Strong knowledge of medical principles, practices, procedures, and technology required.
Proficiency in using EMR software required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care preferred.
Work experience or strong desire to work in urban community health setting preferred.
Must be flexible and able to respond to rapidly changing work environment, including new skill development.
Must have good customer service skills.
