POSITION SUMMARY: 

As a prep cook, you'll set the tone with all of the food preparation, and any other duties that pertain to the back of the house. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow. You should be able to follow recipes and take directions from the manager to ensure quick and accurate preparation.  You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Preparing ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning food according to recipes and specifications.
• Following standardized recipes, portion sizes, and preparation procedures to maintain consistency and quality.
• Labeling, dating, rotating, and properly storing prepared foods and ingredients using proper procedures.
• Complying with company policies, health department requirements, and workplace safety standards
• Maintain cleanliness throughout kitchen 
• Use kitchen equipment safely, responsibly, and with proper care.

WORK PREPARNESS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work in proper uniform and required non-slip footwear.
• While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee may be required to stand and walk for extended periods
• Food Handler certified, or willing to obtain certification upon hire
• Willingness to work around hot surfaces, sharp utensils, wet or slippery floors, and varying temperatures, including refrigerated or freezer areas.
