JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Line cooks prepare the delicious, quality food our brand is known for. The ideal line cook is a foodexpert, cares about the details, and remains calm in the face of multiple, complicated tickets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen specifications.
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and measure fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients as needed.
- Assist with daily food preparation to ensure the kitchen is ready for service.
- Follow recipes, prep lists, and instructions from the kitchen manager or chef.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, dating, and rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Keep prep stations, work surfaces, equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate low inventory or supply needs to the kitchen team.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as needed.
- Work efficiently with line cooks, chefs, and other kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Minimize food waste while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as assigned.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment.
- Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established procedures.
- Comfortable using basic kitchen equipment and knives safely.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or carry kitchen supplies as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Food Handler certificates
- Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Able to multitask and organize
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, squat and lift while on the shift
- Ability to withstand frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, andextreme cold
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment
- High School Diploma/ GED
