Press Operator (2nd Shift)

SATO America is seeking a detail-orientated, service-focused, 2nd Shift Press Operator. This is a full time, permanent position at SATO.

Location: Charlotte, NC, 28273, United States

Compensation: Dependent on experience. Around $28-31/hour plus benefits

2nd shift: 10 hours x 4 days a week.  Monday to Thursday, 4pm-2am 

Ability to work Overtime is required. 

SUMMARY: As 2nd shift press operator, you will perform complex printing jobs, including set-up and troubleshooting for each job. The press operator will produce products in a highly efficient manner in alignment with business goals and KPI's to the highest possible quality standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

** Ability to work in a 2nd Shift role is required. **

** Ability to work Overtime is required.**

• Technical Duties:

• • Operate, set-up, and trouble shoot flexographic printing presses and auxiliary equipment, all in accordance with production standards and productivity goals.

• • • Including: utilization of product specs (copy card), changing plates, cylinders, and dies.

• Maintain machines by performing basic maintenance including lubricants, replace minor parts, and requests major maintenance when necessary.
• Maintain work area utilizing 5S methods.
• Report machine and equipment malfunctions immediately to the group leader, maintenance and/or supervisor.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Cross-train and work multiple press lines and equipment as needed.
• Quality Control: Follow all quality inspection plans. This involves measuring, checking, and testing various processes and product parameters. Meet established goals for material scrap and yield.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with all plant leadership and departments such as engineering, procurement, customer service, and logistics to coordinate production activities, address technical issues, standardize processes, and optimize supply chain processes.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction. Support all continuous improvement initiatives as required via participation and or implementation.
• Health and Safety Compliance:

• • Operate machines in a safe, efficient manner in accordance with established rules and regulations.

• • Follow and comply with health and safety regulations.

• • Report any unsafe condition(s), injury, or accident immediately to immediate supervisor or other member of management.

• • Provide improvement suggestions as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by floor or plant leadership.

QUALIFICATION:

Minimum Qualifications:

• H.S Diploma/GED and one to three years of Press Operator/Machine Operator experience is a must have.
• Production/Manufacturing industry is a must have.
• Troubleshooting experience is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude needed.
• Experience with documentation required.
• The ability to focus on objects, have good vision and be able to differentiate colors as determined by color blindness testing
• Ability to perform basic math functions and use a ruler is required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, and to follow instructions.
• Computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two year college or technical school is a plus.
