As a
Principal Epoxy Chemist, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Develop and commercialize advanced 1K and 2K epoxy adhesive formulations.
- Lead development of UV/light-stable epoxy systems for outdoor applications.
- Drive projects from ideation through scale-up and commercialization.
- Apply knowledge of UV degradation, stabilization, and outdoor durability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate innovative solutions into product development.
- Develop intellectual property and patent opportunities.
- Present research findings to technical teams, management, customers, and conferences.
- Collaborate with global R&D, manufacturing, and marketing organizations.
- Mentor junior chemists and provide technical leadership.
- Maintain strict laboratory safety and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate
Principal Epoxy Chemist who enjoys their work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Principal Epoxy Chemist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- 5+ years of experience with UV/light-stable epoxy systems for outdoor applications.
- Strong 1K and 2K epoxy formulation expertise.
- Product development experience from concept through commercialization.
- Expertise in materials science, performance testing, validation, durability, and weatherability.
- Master s or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field preferred.
- Strong technical leadership and project management capabilities.
- Experience with patents and intellectual property is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple complex projects.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
