Known for its collaborative culture, the business works closely with clinical partners and leverages modern manufacturing techniques to bring innovative solutions to market, offering engineers the chance to make a tangible clinical impact.Job DescriptionReporting into the Chief Technology Officer, you will be responsible for the following:Gather, document, and organize surgeon feedback from evaluations, labs, and clinical use of spinal implants and instrumentsAnalyze feedback to identify opportunities for design, usability, and workflow improvementsConvert clinical insights into clear engineering requirements for design and R&D teamsCollaborate with surgeons, internal engineers, and external manufacturing partners to assess prototypes and production toolsTrack design iterations and maintain detailed feedback and change documentationSupport verification, validation, and usability testing activitiesContribute to the development of surgical technique guides and training materialsAssist with regulatory documentation, risk assessments, and design control processesParticipate in cross-functional reviews to ensure clinical input is embedded throughout developmentThe Successful ApplicantBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related disciplineAt least three years' experience in medical device development within spinal productsStrong understanding of surgical workflowsComfortable engaging with surgeons and multidisciplinary teamsWorking knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks and technical documentationFamiliarity with design controls, usability engineering, and risk managementExposure to additive manufacturing and FDA Class II/ISO-regulated environments would be advantageousProactive, detail-oriented, and able to translate complex feedback into practical design solutionsWhat's on OfferA varied and technically engaging engineering role with real clinical exposureOpportunity to work on cutting-edge spinal implant and instrument technologiesHigh level of cross-functional collaboration and visibility within the product lifecycleProfessional development through hands-on involvement in design, testing, and validationSupportive team culture within an innovative medical device organization
