Production Associate - 1st shift - $16-$20/hr based on experience
A company in Dayton, OH is looking for individuals that are comfortable working with hot and cold steel to manufacture parts while also following all PPE and safety requirements.
Position Details:
Candidates are needed for a Production Associate. This is a 1st shift position with the hours of 6am-4pm. The starting pay is $16-$20 based on experience.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follows company related Safety Rules and Policies
- Process hot roll steel into cold drawn steel bars in any number of required dimensions and lengths.
- Operation of overhead crane, forklift, straightener, feed table and conveyor, eddy current tester and demage unit, exit conveyor, and exit table.
- Use and read a calibrated micrometer to verify the final cold drawn and straightened bar diameter out of the straightener
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Responsible for identifying material that does not meet specifications.
- Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- High School Diploma Preferred
- 6+ Months manufacturing (steel industry preferred)
- Must be able and willing to commute to multiple locations as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation to either location.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours continuously
- Must be able to operate/withstand seasonal hot and cold temperatures
- Must be able to work with oil, lubricants, and other liquids
- Must be able to push, pull, walk, stand, climb, kneel, and bend as needed
- Must be able to wear protective hearing, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
