Production Supervisor

1 Production Supervisors at the Dearborn, MI plant. Anything over 45 hours a week will be OT. This position will require OT work.

ROLE PROFILE

To insure customer requirements are met by effective Client planning, coaching the team toward continuous improvement of product quality and production efficiency. To be responsible for safety, quality, production, cleanliness, team spirit and professional development of each associate in their area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Facilitate team meetings related to quality, cleanliness, safety, productivity and continuous improvement.
• Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership to employees by encouraging positive employee engagement.
• Directly coaches employees and maintains a physical presence on the shift.
• Manage the performance of team employees with the appropriate recognition, feedback and or discipline if necessary.
• Maintain employee attendance information including vacation schedules, verification of time clock punches.
• Insure that safety and housekeeping standards are met.
• Communicate all pertinent information and updated production schedules with opposite shift Supervisors at shift overlap.
• Plan for employee training, development and cross-training.
• Handle disciplinary problems, disputes or conflicts effectively.
• Assist the teams and management to insure customer requirements are met.
• Ensure that safety, quality, production, and delivery targets are met. .
• Ensure that correct process control and associated documentation is utilized.
• Ensure all incidents whether accident, quality or otherwise are documented immediately and reported to the appropriate management.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processes.
• Assist in the improvement of departmental layout.
• Ensure conformance to ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 procedures and work instructions.
• Assist in corrective actions related to customer complaints. Identify, record, and report non-conformance s found in product, process, and quality system.
• Ensure efficient upkeep and utilization of equipment and appropriate PM.
• Facilitate appropriate routine maintenance.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.

REQUIREMENTS;

High School Diploma or GED
Previous supervisory experience (3-5 years) in a manufacturing environment.
Basic understanding of OSHA, labor and federal regulations.
Previous experience in a union environment with solid leadership skills.
Able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
Must be proficient in Client Word, Excel and Outlook.
ISO & IATF 16949 knowledge and understanding is a plus.
All candidates must be able to work all shifts, Saturday & Sunday and Overtime when needed
