Production Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Production Test Technician in Ronkonkoma, New York for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will support production and research-and-development test operations by setting up test equipment, conducting tests, assembling test units, troubleshooting equipment, and making component-level adjustments and repairs.

Required Skills

• Experience using hand tools and small power tools.
• Ability to set up test apparatus and conduct testing according to established procedures, standards, and sequences.
• Ability to assemble test equipment and test units from designs, diagrams, sketches, and specifications.
• Ability to make basic equipment modifications by adding, removing, or replacing components.
• Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and make adjustments or replace parts as directed.
• Experience using measuring and testing equipment.
• Ability to work safely on ladders and at heights.
• Ability to work safely around high-pressure and combustible gases.
• Ability to work outdoors as required throughout the year.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to support changing day-to-day production and testing priorities.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance if required later in the assignment.

Preferred Skills

• Plumbing and fabrication experience.
• Tube bending and flaring experience.
• Pipe fabrication experience.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience supporting production-test, manufacturing-test, or R&D operations.

What You’ll Do

• Set up test apparatus and conduct testing on production assemblies and units.
• Follow established test methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
• Lay out and assemble units used with test equipment.
• Build or modify test setups according to engineering designs and specifications.
• Add, remove, or alter components based on predetermined diagrams and sketches.
• Troubleshoot test-equipment malfunctions.
• Make adjustments and replace parts or components as directed.
• Use hand tools, small power tools, and measuring and testing devices.
• Support quality verification activities and applicable process-control procedures.
• Assist with production and R&D test activities as assigned.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Ronkonkoma, New York.
• 9/80A schedule.
• 7:30 AM–5:00 PM.

Pay

• $43.62 per hour.
