The  Accounting, Compliance, and Governance (ACG) Team has an outstanding opportunity for Program Operations Specialist to join their team.

About this Opportunity

As a Program Operations Specialist, this critical role will support the development and maintenance of the University’s foundation data model (FDM) and financial data governance practices. Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Accounting and Governance, this role will be responsible for supporting internal stakeholders, both within Finance Planning and Budgeting (FPB) and across the wider campus community, in maintaining unit-level data structures and providing oversight to ensure data governance standards are followed. Further, this role is responsible for addressing business operations and campus support needs and driving to solutions. Specific duties will include triaging and fulfilling foundation data model (FDM) maintenance tickets, documenting and analyzing business processes to drive improvements, and collaborating with FPB, UWIT, and Shared Environment resources to handle escalated inquiries.

Additionally, as a proactive team member focused on continuous improvement, the incumbent will be expected to identify process issues, evaluate opportunities for enhancement, and contribute to the implementation of recommended solutions to support ongoing Workday processes and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service, Outreach, and Project Support (40%)

• Triage support request intake and resolution; engaging with and escalating to appropriate teams and resources as needed
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and facilitate process improvements, resulting in complete work products for institutional use
• Participate in the review of Workday updates impacting finance operations, including requirement reviews, testing and training as necessary
• Partner with teams in Finance, Planning & Budgeting (FPB), Shared Environments, and UWIT to ensure consistency in process and training across all Workday Finance transactions
• Support resolution of complex user/stakeholder inquiries as needed

Workday FDM and Accounting Configuration Support (40%)

• Process Workday FDM change requests
• Process defined EIB data loads within Workday
• Advise process partners on appropriate FDM and accounting Worktags usage

• Manage operational data elements and attributes within Workday and external systems
• Provide Workday task assignment and delegation support
• Provide support for other finance operations transactions as required, including higher volume windows and major processing activities

Enterprise Accounting and Governance Support (20%)

• Update and maintain process, system, and support materials
• Support communication efforts related to major Workday activities, system enhancements/updates, and known issues
• Maintain and coordinate changes to support request intake forms, assignment groups, and design
• Work with a diverse group of individuals, placing a value on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness
• Other duties as assigned
• Train and cross train staff within Finance, Planning and Budgeting

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience relevant experience working in Finance, Accounting, or Enterprise Systems support
• Experience interacting with customers, including resolution of complex inquiries and efficient performance during high-volume timeframes
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers and key process stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on clarity and conciseness
• Experience using a proactive continual service improvement/iterative approach to meet process design requirements, assimilating stakeholder feedback, and refining operational frameworks on an ongoing basis
• Demonstrated experience in working on diverse groups and teams; respects, values, and contributes to FPB and UW’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience executing and/or managing relevant Workday training at the University of Washington or in a comparable higher education environment

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$61,368.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$75,084.00 annual
