Job Summary:
We are seeking an FAA Certification & Compliance Specialist to support certification and compliance activities for regulated aviation maintenance positions. This role will coordinate FAA certificate applications, schedule FAA interviews, verify employee identity, qualifications and training, and maintain accurate certification records throughout the certificate lifecycle.
The specialist will work closely with maintenance, training, records, and compliance teams to ensure employees meet required certification and training requirements before performing regulated work. The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage documentation-heavy workflows in a regulated environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Coordinate FAA certificate applications for employees in regulated maintenance roles
- Schedule and coordinate FAA interviews associated with certification applications
- Verify employee identity, qualifications, training, and required documentation
- Review certification paperwork for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Track certification applications from initiation through completion
- Maintain repairman certificates and employee certification records
- Monitor certification and training status to ensure employees remain qualified for regulated work
- Coordinate with maintenance, crew records, training, and compliance teams
- Maintain organized electronic records using Excel, Adobe Acrobat, email, and related tools
- Communicate certification requirements, missing documentation, deadlines, and next steps to employees and stakeholders
- Follow up on outstanding documentation and certification actions
- Support certificate recovery and record updates when employees leave the organization
- Identify gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies within certification workflows
- Recommend and support process improvements
- Take ownership of assigned certification and compliance workflows
- Ensure work is completed accurately, consistently, and within required timelines
- Support additional aviation certification and compliance activities as needed
Must-Have Qualifications:- 1+ year of relevant professional experience
- Experience supporting FAA certification, aviation certification, licensing, or another regulated certification process
- Strong understanding of documentation-heavy compliance workflows
- Exceptional attention to detail and record accuracy
- Experience managing multiple applications, records, cases, or workflows simultaneously
- Strong organizational and follow-through skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned processes
- Ability to handle sensitive and regulated employee documentation appropriately
