Job Description

Project Manager / Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction

Western Oregon | Take Projects from Bid to Build | Established Contractor

Build It. Manage It. See the Results.

Ready to take full ownership of heavy civil projects—from the first quantity takeoff through final completion?

I’m partnering with a highly respected heavy civil contractor that has served Western Oregon for more than four decades. With a strong reputation, established client relationships, and a steady pipeline of work, the company is looking for an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to strengthen its excavation division.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both winning work and successfully delivering it. You’ll estimate a diverse range of civil projects, help develop the strategy behind each bid, and manage awarded projects through completion.

What You’ll Own

  • Prepare competitive estimates for excavation and heavy civil construction projects
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and site development
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents
  • Develop accurate labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor pricing
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and value-engineering solutions
  • Manage awarded projects from preconstruction through final closeout
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
  • Monitor production, job costs, and overall project profitability
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field crews to keep projects moving
  • Build strong relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of Project Management and/or Estimating experience in heavy civil construction
  • Strong experience with excavation, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and civil site development
  • Experience estimating and managing public and private civil projects
  • Oregon or Pacific Northwest construction experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Strong understanding of equipment utilization, crew production, and heavy civil construction methods
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • A driven, hands-on mindset with the ability to take ownership and deliver results

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Join an established contractor with more than 40 years of success in Western Oregon
  • Take ownership of projects from bid through final completion
  • Work with an experienced leadership team and respected field personnel
  • Step into a stable position backed by a strong reputation and consistent project opportunities
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits and retirement package
  • Paid time off
  • Long-term advancement and professional growth

If you’re ready to put your estimating and project-management experience to work with a proven Western Oregon contractor, this could be an outstanding next step in your career.
