Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the direction of the Medical Imaging Director, the Lead Rad Tech II is responsible for the effective management and supervision of the technical, clinical and human resources operations of the respective Imaging departments (a minimum of two Imaging modalities). Responsibilities will include staffing, education and training, department schedules, department policies and examination protocols, on-going performance improvement, adherence to state and other regulatory agencies, equipment maintenance, supply and inventory control, and assistance with budget preparation and financial analysis. Employee will also assume clinical duties as necessary to meet departmental productivity targets and volume demands and will remain current with their applicable ARRT, NMTCB, ARDMS and/or TDH licenses. Position requires collaborative working relationships with other hospital departments, medical office staff, and vendors. The Lead Rad Tech II may be expected to participate in the marketing of services for the facility, community outreach activities, and development of new service lines via customer satisfaction monitoring. Position may require travel to and from division meetings and/or the Lake Area Imaging Department.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the imaging team and mentoring technologists to deliver safe, high-quality patient care 
  • Guiding patients through imaging procedures with compassion, comfort, and confidence 
  • Operating advanced radiography equipment and administering contrast media while ensuring radiation safety 
  • Maintaining and calibrating instruments, supplies, and equipment for accurate and efficient imaging 
  • Collaborating with radiologists, nurses, and the care team to support smooth workflows and excellent patient outcomes 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of a 2 year accredited school of Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasound with an Associate Degree in Applied Sciences.
  • Current professional registry required: ARRT or CNMTB or ARDMS.
  • If ARRT, must have one advanced level registry in one of the modalities being supervised (i.e. CT or MRI), and demonstrated clinical competence and experience in the other modality's.
  • Current G.M.R.T. registry with the Texas Medical Board. (L.M.R.T. is not accepted) (Only for Radiology & CT)Minimum 3 years directly related experience in medical imaging.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • BCLS Certification.
