Description

Receives callers and patients at establishment, determines nature of business, logs in patient arrival, directs callers to destination by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Responsible for greeting all patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

  2. Responsible for taking the patient's picture and inputting in the system.

  3. Responsible for providing information to patients of where to go.

  4. Acts as a backup for incoming telephone calls.

  5. Answers all telephone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

  6. Checks in patients for their appointment.

  7. Communicates with other offices for necessary patient information.

  8. Responsible for verifying and completing all necessary paperwork for patients.

  9. Verifies that all information is correct in the computer system.

  10. Schedules patient for follow-up appointments.

  11. Coordinates transportation services if needed.

  12. Calls patients to remind them of their appointment date and time.

  13. Issues badges, cards, flowers, pins, etc. to patients when they arrive.

  14. Reschedules and cancels appointments when necessary in order to accommodate the patient's needs.

  15. Schedules no-show appointments.

  16. Enters OTC in computer system.

  17. Processes paperwork as required.

  18. Sends external appointment messages to the Referral Department.

  19. Must be knowledgeable in Medical Manager and Next Gen systems.

  20. Maintains open channels of communications with other company departments. Answers all telephone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.

  21. Wears a complete uniform and keeps a clean and neat appearance during working hours.

  22. Performs variety of clerical duties.

  23. Participates in weekly line-ups.

  24. Participates in training and in-service education as required.

  25. Participates in department, center and company meetings as requested.

  26. Complies with LMC's infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.

  27. Complies with Leon Medical Centers policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality of patient medical records in accordance with state and federal laws.
