Job Summary
Benton County Health Services is currently seeking a Temporary Registered Dietitian / WIC Coordinator to join the team.
As a member of an interdisciplinary team, and under the guidance of the Public Health Nurse Program Manager, administer the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program, including planning, reporting, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations; provide nutrition assessments, intervention and education to individuals and families, including high-risk counseling; develop individual care plans based on nutritional assessments; issue food package benefits; plan and coordinate WIC specific education initiatives; breastfeeding promotion and support training and service evaluation; schedule, organize, and assign work to program staff; and conduct clinical and community level outreach.

Please note:
- This is an on-call position not to exceed 1040 hours in a fiscal year.
Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
- Bachelors Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or a related health science field; AND
- 1 year of related health services experience; AND
- Registered Dietitian Licensure required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.
Special Requirements:
- Valid Oregon drivers license. This position requires driving and may require use of a personal vehicle.
- Knowledge of WIC program administration.
- Commitment to racial equity and social justice, and knowledge of how social determinants impact health.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations and to effectively interact with adults, infants, and children in a professional manner.
- Ability to Interpret and communicate State and Federal rules regulations and procedures.
- Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to participate in problem-solving.
- Ability to update and draft policy, as necessary.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships based on trust with employees, clients, community partners, and community.
