Registered Nurse (Rn) - Clinical Program Coordinator, Vascular Surgery

Join UVA Health's Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic as a Clinical Program Coordinator supporting Vascular Surgery. This highly visible position offers an experienced RN the opportunity to shape programs, translate clinical data into meaningful improvements, lead education and outreach initiatives, and strengthen the connection between patients, physicians, and community partners.

The Role

This is a distinctive nursing opportunity for a self-directed clinician who wants to expand their impact beyond traditional patient care. Working primarily onsite at the main UVA Hospital campus, you will serve as a strategic partner to vascular surgery leaders and multidisciplinary teams while helping programs evolve in response to patient needs, clinical outcomes, and emerging practices.

Your work will span program development, quality improvement, education, data analysis, and community engagement. The position offers significant autonomy and the flexibility to build upon your own strengths, whether your interests are service line growth, population health, clinical education, process improvement, or program operations.

In an average day, you may:

• Identify emerging vascular surgery practices, technologies, products, and clinical opportunities that could strengthen care delivery.
• Review patient outcomes, service volumes, dashboards, and program metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support initiatives focused on reducing complications, preventing avoidable readmissions, and improving the patient experience.
• Coordinate professional education programs, including the Aortic Symposium, vascular education events, conferences, and continuing education activities.
• Secure speakers, organize event logistics, and partner with marketing teams on outreach and promotion.
• Participate in vascular screening events and build relationships with referral sources, community organizations, and clinical partners.
• Help develop patient and family education related to aortic disease, Marfan syndrome, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, genetic vascular conditions, and family awareness.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams across Vascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Vascular Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Structural Heart, and TAVR programs.
• Transform new ideas into practical initiatives that support program growth and better outcomes.

This role is best suited for an independent thinker, relationship builder, and curious clinician who can recognize opportunities and move work forward. Although primarily onsite, the manager supports schedule flexibility when evening or weekend educational and community events require additional time. Hybrid flexibility may become possible after relationships and organizational visibility are established.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program, Master's degree in related field within 4 years of hire.

Experience: Three years progressive experience and relevant clinical nursing experience required.

Licensure: Must be a registered nurse and currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia. Specialty Board Certification strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers and may require occasional travel. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $84,364.80 - $134,992.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
