Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - General Surgery Job Location: Cincinnati, OH Job Duration: 1-2 Months (possibility of extension) Payrate: $54.00/ hr. on w2 Job Summary: The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for Client which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. The care is culturally based and age specific. The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the Product of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Unit Description: 5S General Surgery: The General Surgery/5S unit is a fast-paced, 39-bed unit with all-private rooms. The unit primarily provides specialized care for patients undergoing general surgery, ENT procedures and medical overflow. The experience of caring for the diverse patient population on this unit provides staff with a solid clinical foundation in medical surgical nursing. This team-oriented and caring peer environment is great for both the experienced nurse and new graduate. Required Education: Diploma of Nursing. Preferred Education: BSN. Required Certifications & Licensure: Ohio RN license or Compact. BLS (American Heart Assoc.). Required Skills & Experience: The RN demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education. The RN effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains absolute confidentiality. The RN maintains competence and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth. The RN demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change and the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting.
