Duties
Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and hands-on experimentation to drive innovation in medical device development.
Design, build, and test prototypes to explore new concepts and optimize performance.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, software, and clinical) to bring ideas from concept to production.
Document research findings, technical specifications, and compliance materials in accordance with FDA and ISO standards.
Apply problem-solving skills to identify process inefficiencies and engineer practical solutions.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into product development cycles.
Contribute to all phases of product life cycle ideation, development, testing, validation, and launch.
Assist technicians hands-on when needed, bridging theoretical and practical engineering.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; Masters preferred (PhD not required).
5+ years of experience in R&D engineering with proven impact on product or process development.
Familiarity with Mathematica or other scientific programming tools is preferred, but not required.
Strong background in real-world engineering problem solving and systems-level thinking.
Skilled in using tools such as calipers, gauges, mills, lathes, and CNC machines.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Adaptability to a fast-changing environment and a willingness to take initiative and ownership.
