RRT This position involves working three 12-hour shifts per week. Our department has every third-weekend rotation. Candidates need to be willing to work some holidays. Candidates will be expected to work in ICUs and floors. BJH is a teaching hospital, occasionally you may be asked to precept respiratory therapy students. Must have RRT credentials, BLS, Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License Strongly preferred: Active AARC membership, a bachelor s degree or higher in any field of study or be actively working towards their bachelor s degree. Years of experience REQ: 2 First-timers accepted: (Y/N) Yes Weekend REQ: Every third Certs REQ: BCLS, RRT Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Candidates will be expected to work in ICUs and also floors. Open to accommodating block schedule? The cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length to which the Contractor Personnel is assigned Special Requirements: Epic experience Airway Management Devices/Suctioning required: Endrotracheal tube/suctioning, Extubation, Nasal airway suctioning, Oral airway placement, Oropharyngeal/suctioning, Sputum specimen collection, Tracheostomy/suctioning Medication Administration required: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Inhaled Flolan, Inhaled steroids, Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo), Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex Medication Delivery Systems: Aerosol set up mask, Aerosol set up trach, Metered dose inhaler Nebulizer required: Hand held, T-piece, Trach collar, Ultrasonic Oxygen Therapy required: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) Ventilator Management: BiPAP, CPAP, Troubleshooting high pressure alarms, Weaning from mechanical ventilation ABG interpretation required Top 3 skills: The ability to care for and treat patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases is a must. Must be comfortable managing mechanically ventilated patients. BJH has a large campus so the ability to walk relatively long distances is important.
