Description
Under the direction of the Emergency Department Director, delivers quality nursing care to patients on an assigned unit. Assures all patient/family needs are met. Provides open communication within the unit, patients, families, physicians and other units. Demonstrates knowledge of patient/staff safety measures.
Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room.
Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system.
Time management is crucial
Responsible for moving patients, taking blood samples, cleaning and bandaging wounds, administering medications and maintaining proper supplies
Performs focused assessment of chief complaints of each patient in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines.
Carries out patient care according to hospital policies and procedures functioning within the limitations of the Nurse Practice Act
PRN or “as needed” employees provide a crucial role within the organization, giving departments more flexibility to operate and ensuring that Delta Health provides superior services to our patients.
Must be currently licensed to practice as an R.N. in the State of Colorado.
At least two years experience in critical care nursing preferred.
Specialty certification for specialty areas preferred.
BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire.
ENPC or PALS required within 6 months. ENPC preferred.
TNCC required upon hire or within 1 year.
Must work 2 shifts per month and1 Holiday per year to maintain PRN status.
