Key Responsibilities

o Develop safety measures, analyze trends and leading indicators, and present concise findings and recommendations to leadership.
o Lead or coordinate timely investigations of injuries, illnesses, vehicle incidents, near misses, property damage, and high-potential events using root-cause methods appropriate to the event.
o Partner with responsible managers to define corrective actions, assign owners and due dates, verify completion, and evaluate effectiveness using practical human-factors and risk-control approaches.
o Partner with Human Resources, management, insurance carriers, and claim administrators on workers compensation loss prevention, claim reviews, return-to-work coordination, and related recordkeeping while respecting role boundaries and confidentiality.
o Assess training needs and develop or coordinate orientation, refresher, and task-specific training for employees, supervisors, and managers, including Dayton new-hire safety orientation and consistent expectations for other locations.
o Coordinate required or appropriate OSHA, MSHA, emergency response, first aid, and other safety training; maintain accurate training records and renewal schedules; and communicate hazards, lessons learned, policy changes, and performance expectations clearly and promptly.
