Sales Representative (Hospitality)

Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for driving growth and increasing margins for MSI’s product lines within the hospitality sector. This role focuses on building relationships with franchise owners of hotel brands and independent hoteliers in a designated geographic territory.

Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to complete the following essential duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers within the assigned territory.
• Educate customers on MSI products, providing training and ensuring their staff can effectively present the products.
• Identify, present, and negotiate MSI’s value propositions tailored to each customer’s business potential.
• Analyze market competition and position MSI’s products to gain a competitive advantage.
• Utilize MSI’s unique tools and resources to enhance market presence.
• Consult with customers on retail business financials, including pricing, advertising, promotions, and ROI.
• Manage product displays, samples, and sales tools for customers.
• Provide accurate pricing, delivery estimates, and credit terms; handle sales contracts.
• Investigate and resolve customer claims, including issuing credits and RMAs.
• Address customer concerns promptly and fairly to maintain strong relationships.
• Attend trade shows as required throughout the year.
• Willing to travel up to 90%, with most travel being local and occasional overnight trips.

Additionally the candidate must meet the following Education and/or Experience requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum two (2) plus years of hospitality flooring sales experience (porcelain tile, resilient surfaces such as LVT, wall tile, natural stone, etc.).
• Minimum two (2) years of related industry experience in natural stone, tile, or hard flooring.
• Strong understanding of hospitality business financials for consulting with franchise owners and FF&E companies.
• Proven ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.
• Interior Design education or experience is a plus.
• Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Intermediate computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Positive attitude and strong motivation to achieve sales targets.
• Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and resilience when facing customer objections.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively alone or as part of a team.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
