Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Responsibilities:
The Scheduler arranges appointments for surgical and non-surgical procedures along with pre-surgical testing for various specialties.
Schedules surgeries and procedures for all specialties.
Coordinates all required testing and procedures.
Ensures all required pre-testing, patient information, and consents have been obtained and are on-site before the patient’s admission to the hospital.
Demonstrates good judgment in scheduling procedures to both meet patient needs and increase physician productivity.
Acts as a liaison with patients, referrals, general practitioners, health care professionals, and patients’ family members in a compassionate and kind manner.
Qualifications:
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Understanding and use of Electronic Health Record (EMR)
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and attention to detail.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Associate’s degree.
Certified Scheduling Technician (CST).
1+ years’ experience in a hospital or physician practice setting.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
