Our client is seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join the Discovery Genomics team within Target Discovery & Biology (TD&B). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative genomics research, supporting high-throughput data analysis, data management, and experimental workflows. The Scientist will play a key role in advancing projects through routine computational and laboratory support, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility. This role provides a platform for professional growth in a dynamic research environment, with potential to develop expertise in cutting-edge genomics technologies and data analysis pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support routine computational analysis of functional genomics and transcriptomics datasets using established internal pipelines and reporting systems.
  • Assist with experimental registration, source sample tracking, and data management for NGS workflows to ensure data retention, visibility, and accessibility.
  • Manage workflow and data entry within Benchling OEMS for pooled gene perturbation, amplicon-seq, bulk RNA-seq, and related NGS experiments.
  • Process pooled genomic perturbation screen data, including raw FASTQ files, utilizing established NextFlow pipelines and internal gene-edited reporting systems.
  • Support future arrayed perturbation screening efforts by executing established analytical pipelines once developed and implemented.
  • Process Perturb-seq datasets from raw FASTQ files into count tables using established Cell Ranger workflows.
  • Support bulk RNA-seq analyses by downloading data from CROs, processing samples through internal pipelines, and generating reports using standardized workflows.
  • Assist with transcriptomic assessment of edited clones utilizing existing analysis pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with the manager and TD&B team to prioritize analyses, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain organized documentation of analyses, inputs, outputs, and reports to support reproducibility, data integrity, and downstream interpretation.

Qualifications:
  • Degree or experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, genetics, biology, data science, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with NGS data types, including pooled gene perturbation screens, bulk RNA-seq, amplicon-seq, Perturb-seq, or related workflows.
  • Experience executing established computational pipelines and managing structured data outputs.
  • Knowledge of sequencing file formats and analysis outputs such as FASTQ files, count matrices, and NGS reports.
  • Experience with sample tracking systems, Benchling, or similar data management platforms.
  • Proficiency working in Unix/Linux environments and cloud platforms, including AWS, is a plus.
  • Basic scripting skills in R, Python, or shell scripting are preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data integrity, reproducibility, and thorough documentation.
  • Ability to work independently on routine analyses, with proactive communication to project teams and managers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach in cross-functional research settings.
