Description / Position Overview

Seasonal - Division of the Fire Marshal Administrative Support

There are two positions available in which you will perform a variety of administrative support, record keeping, and/or clerical accounting duties for the Division of the Fire Marshal (DFM) at the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD). This role is best suited to candidates who enjoy working collaboratively on detail-oriented work in a small team environment.

These are seasonal (at-will) positions with benefits limited to those required by applicable state and federal laws, which include Workers Compensation, Medicare, Unemployment Insurance, and PERA (Public Employees Retirement Association).

These positions are subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (in office presence required), 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

Work Location: Fire Department Complex, 375 Printers Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80910

Duration of seasonal position: Date of hire through December 31, 2026

Both Administrative Support positions will:

  • Assist with data entry and updates in various division programs and databases
  • Assist with quality assurance functions for inspection reports
  • Assist with the issuance and tracking of annual and provisional permits
  • Assist with filing and file/information research and retrievals for open records requests
  • Assist with division collections processes
  • Assist with migration of paper and electronic records to new platforms/locations
  • Provide information and assistance to DFM customers and the public
  • Support team operations and other duties and assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of full-time, professional experience in clerical, administrative or an office support role
