What You'll Do

As a Seasonal Tax Preparer, you'll work closely with our tax team to prepare accurate, complete tax returns and keep engagements moving during filing season.

You will:

• Prepare federal and California individual income tax returns
• Prepare business returns, including S corporations and partnerships
• Prepare trust and fiduciary income tax returns based on your experience level
• Review source documents and identify missing or inconsistent information
• Organize workpapers and supporting documentation
• Make appropriate tax adjustments and identify items requiring further review
• Communicate with clients regarding missing information and routine tax questions
• Work collaboratively with Client Managers, reviewers, and other members of the production team
• Identify unusual or complex tax issues and bring them forward with your analysis—not simply pass along the problem
• Monitor assigned work and meet internal and statutory deadlines
• Assist with extensions, estimated tax payments, e-filing, and other filing-season processes

What We're Looking For

We want an experienced preparer who can step into a professional tax environment and contribute quickly.

Preferred qualifications include:

• 2+ recent tax seasons of professional tax preparation experience
• Experience preparing Form 1040
• Experience with Forms 1120S and 1065
• Trust or fiduciary return experience is a plus
• CPA, EA, or CTEC credential strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of California taxation
• Experience with professional tax preparation software
• Experience with ProConnect Tax strongly preferred
• Experience with TaxDome or another professional client/workflow management platform
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a technology-forward, paper-light environment

Schedule

This is a seasonal, in-person position in our Long Beach office during tax filing season.

Approximately 25–40 hours per week, depending on workload, availability, and experience.

Some additional availability may be needed as major filing deadlines approach.

Compensation

$32–$48 per hour, depending on experience, credentials, and technical skill.

Experienced CPA and EA candidates with strong business-return experience will be considered toward the upper end of the range.
