Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Experience: Must have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Skills: Strong account reconciliation, financial analysis, and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required

Our mission-driven client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support key accounting, financial reporting, and analysis functions during a temporary assignment. Working closely with the Controller, you'll play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits and budgeting efforts, and delivering meaningful financial insights to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant will include:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including reclassifications as needed
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules
• Analyze budget-to-actual results and financial trends while identifying key drivers
• Assist in preparing departmental and consolidated financial statements
• Partner with internal departments to review financial results and explain variances
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting
• Assist with audit preparation and audit support activities
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for external stakeholders
• Document accounting and finance processes to support consistency and compliance
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects

Qualifications for the role of Senior Accountant:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong experience with account reconciliations and financial analysis
• Solid understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills
• Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
• High level of attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
