    Description

    Our client is a privately owned property management company focused on the acquisition, development, and management of multifamily and commercial properties. They're looking for a Senior Staff Accountant to keep accounting and financial records accurate and on time across a portfolio of commercial and residential entities. The role partners closely with property managers, accounting staff, owners, lenders, and investors. This is an in-office position based at the client's Calabasas corporate office.

    Responsibilities:

    • Handle accounting, reporting, and reconciliations for commercial and residential properties.
    • Prepare monthly budget variance reports and write up explanations for the variances.
    • Create journal entries, owner draws, and financial reports.
    • Track cash balances, disbursements, deposits, and debt payments.
    • Prepare tax filings, projections, property tax payments, and 1099 support.
    • Coordinate with property managers, accounting staff, owners, lenders, and investors.
    • Track common area expenses as they're incurred.
    • Prepare common area maintenance reconciliations and tenant bill-backs.
    • Help develop, roll out, and enforce operational accounting policies and procedures for the commercial properties.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 3 years of property management accounting experience, specifically in commercial
    • Proficient in Yardi and MS Suite

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • 3 years of property management accounting experience, specifically in commercial and multifamily
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proven ability to juggle competing priorities and hit deadlines

    Compensation:
