Key Responsibilities

• 
  
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• 
  
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules
• 
  
• Analyze financial results, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve business performance
• 
  
• Monitor project financials, including budgets, costs, profitability, and overall project performance
• 
  
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-range financial planning initiatives
• 
  
• Review contracts, billing activity, and revenue recognition to ensure compliance and accuracy
• 
  
• Develop financial reports, dashboards, and management presentations that provide meaningful business insights
• 
  
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to evaluate performance and support decision-making
• 
  
• Research variances and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational outcomes
• 
  
• Participate in process improvement initiatives that enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls
• 
  
• Assist with audit support, compliance requirements, and financial documentation
• 
  
• Mentor junior accounting team members and provide guidance on accounting policies and best practices
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 
  
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting, finance, project accounting, or operational finance experience
• 
  
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes
• 
  
• Experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses
• 
  
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis
• 
  
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial information into business insights
• 
  
• Ability to build relationships and work effectively with both finance and operational teams
• 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
• Experience supporting project-based, construction, engineering, manufacturing, energy, or service-based organizations
• 
  
• Background in project accounting, job costing, contract accounting, revenue recognition, or billing operations
• 
  
• Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms
• 
  
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial control best practices
• 
  
• CPA designation or CPA-track candidate preferred but not required
• 
  
• Experience mentoring staff or leading accounting projects
•
